Spindrift: Thoughts on the Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer and Other News

I was talking to one of my friends about how much I wanted to see a new Game of Thrones trailer and sure enough when I went on YouTube later that day I had seen one uploaded. If you’ve been following me for a while you will know that I love Game of Thrones. A couple of months ago I discussed my Jon Snow theory and this trailer supports it. From what I gathered it looks like Davos is going to take Jon Snow’s dead body from the watch and give it to Melisandre so that she can revive him. There’s also a screenshot from the trailer floating around that looks like Jon Snow in on horseback during a brief battle scene in the trailer. I find it hard to believe that the editors would let something like that slip in, plus let’s face it, Jon Snow isn’t the only guy in Game of Thrones that has long black hair. Also, has anyone considered that they might have put that scene in there on purpose? It’s entirely possible that they did that to get people to think that it’s him. We can also tell that there are going to be flashbacks this season including one with Ned Stark. That could lead in to finding out the identity of Jon Snow’s true parents. The trailer overall was fantastic and I cannot wait for April 24th.

I had also heard that J.K. Simmons was cast as Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming Justice League movies. I’m pretty psyched to see how he does and what he brings to the character. I’ve been loving most of DC’s casting so far and this is no exception. This is J.K. Simmons’ second role in a superhero movie so far so it’ll be interesting to see how they differ. Who knows maybe he’ll replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine… okay, probably not.

The last thing that I wanted to mention was that Captain America: Civil War is going to have a 2 hour and 26-minute runtime which is the longest in Marvel’s history. There is also a new trailer premiering tomorrow so keep an eye out for that. There are rumors that Spider-Man will show up in the trailer which would be kind of ironic due to J.K. Simmons casting.

Thanks for reading.
