Spindrift: Method Acting at its Finest

A lot of interesting Suicide Squad news has been popping up recently. With each and every thing I hear about the movie, I get more and more excited.

For one, Jared Leto has gotten so into his portrayal as the Joker using method acting that he has sent some interesting mail to his colleagues. To Will Smith, who plays Deadshot, he sent a note and some bullets. Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, received a box with a love note and a live mouse!

This just shows how dedicated Jared Leto is to his role. The director of the movie, David Ayer, actually hired a therapist to help the actors not get lost in their roles and lose whom they actually are. The extent to which the actors are going to present us with the purest forms of their character in insane.

This is the kind of thing that DC seems to excel at, more so than Marvel (who is also great). I just appreciate the darker tone of the DC movies. It leads to an overall more realistic feel. If this level of dedication returns in more DC movies to come, it may just have a chance to go toe to toe with Marvel.

Jared Leto seems more and more fitting to play the Joker by the day. I feel like the casting on Suicide Squad is great, and I hope to see the chemistry between the actors. As we know, Margot Robbie and Will Smith starred together in Focus, so that’s only going to further the realism of interactions between Deadshot and Harley Quinn.

So far, Suicide Squad is one of my most anticipated films of 2016 and I can’t wait for the trailer. Sorry for the short article this week. Thanks for reading.
